Week 6 Milestones

Well I thought I would be better about keeping up with this than I have been! I will try to be better now that we're starting to get a hang of things around here!

To update...Katherine was 6 weeks this past Tuesday. I went to have her weighed on Wed and she was 8lbs 12oz 20.5in. She is getting so big...to us that is! Everyone else comments on how tiny she still looks! Wait until you see the adorable rolls on her thighs, neck, and arms! Last week she started becoming so alert during wake time. She is smiling a lot and making adorable cooing and babble noises at us and at the mobile in the swing. Below are some pictures. Sleeping and feeding are still going well. She has been regular with only one feeding in the middle of the night and that is usually at 4 or 5 am. Makes mom happier to be around during the day!

We're heading to Greenville tomorrow to meet some new people...Great Grandparents, cousins, and friends! We enjoyed meeting Katherine's newest girlfriend...Mary Beth Stafford...on Wednesday and have already been to 2 birthday parties and on 2 dates! All with boys so we're needing some girlfriends! :)

Katherine Clark Lee

Well, I did go past due date, but only 2 days! Water broke Tues AM and she came at 3:13 pm Tues via c-section. I wasn't contracting at all up to that point and so had to get on petiocin when I got to hospital. Started contracting, but not very fast. She wasn't responding well to the petocin and her heart rate jumped down twice. At that point doc told us we should consider talking about c-section. With the way I was contracting slowly, she wasn't dropping into birth canal b/c of my narrow hips, and mostly b/c of her response to the petocin, we decided c-section was the best route for both of us. She was delivered less than 30 min later! During surgery they saw the cord was around her neck as well and that I had 4 fibroid muscle tumors that had to be removed through second incision immediately after her removal. All no pain to me...was awake the whole time. Pain came later though and has decreased each day with the good drugs! :)

Needless to say, all has happened so quick this week! We just got home yesterday late afternoon and have had a day of adjustment so far! Things are going great now and we're starting to figure things out. Breastfeeding is going well and luckily she is a sleeper at the moment! We have heard she looks like a good combo of both of us. She already changes every day! Here is a link to pictures we have been taking. We'll continue to add to this link.

Can't wait for you to meet her!

Due Date

Well due date is about to come and go. Looks like she is pretty comfortable where she is! Made it to Brittany's baby shower Saturday and then through church today. Great seeing some friends. Today JP, Apollo, and I have walked a total of about 5 miles around the neighborhood twice and on campus as well. Maybe she will begin to be encouraged to make her way into the world soon. Full Moon tonight. :) Car seat is now completely in car along with most of our bags just in case! Aunt Diane has knee replacement surgery at Richland Hospital here in town tomorrow morning. We have decided our little one just wanted to wait make sure she was getting ALL the attention! We go to the dr at 8:30 tomorrow morning to see where we will go next.

We’re waiting and waiting! Cutest thing this morning. I was wide awake at 6 am and got up to take Apollo on a long walk. Came back and was eating breakfast in the den and didn’t hear a peep from him in the other room. Assuming he was up to no good I went looking for him and he was just sitting next to the chair in the nursery! He’s ready, too! Going to see Chicago tonight so maybe the music will get her going! Also going to eat Moe's tomorrow night and have a co-worker bringing me a Eggplant parmesan meal for Fri night from Word of Mouth on Augusta road in Greenville- she says it is amazingly good. They supposedly have good frozen meals you can pick up like lasagna, etc. Good to know. Eggplant parm. is supposed to help get baby moving as well! We’re about to start pulling out all the old wives tales! Thank you to friends and family who have been checking in everyday this week so far. We'll keep everyone posted! Dr. appointment at 8:30 tomorrow morning.

5 days until D-Day!

So it's now offcially the week of my due date! I am starting to get a bit anxious and impatient, but need to keep reminding myself that due date is not quite here yet! Personally I always get anxious about not arriving somewhere on time and then end up being right on time so maybe she will be the same way! :) These Lee girls (Regan and Susanna) have both been right on time so far so maybe she will carry on the tradition! Starting to feel pretty unfomfortable, but I really can't complain. Camera stuff is already packed in the hospital bag (except for the actual camera since mom wants me to take a picture walking out the door to the hospital) so I can't upload a picture right now!

Looking forward to hopefully seeing friends this weekend at Brittany's baby shower! Mom is also finishing a painting for the room and has just picked up her framed needlepoint for over the crib. We'll hopefully get those special finishing touches up this weekend! Hoping next post will be of baby!

Happy Mothers' Day! One month to go!

Before a wedding in Greenville- 5/9/09- 36 weeks

We were in Greenville for Mothers' Day! We had a wedding on 5/8. Meredith saved the day and had a dress for me to borrow for events the past 2 weekends! We had a great weekend with my family. It was a bit warm and my feet and ankles have started swelling a bit by the end of the days so it was rough at times! Our last weekend out of town for awhile! Countdown time!

Nursery- One month to go!

Mom and I have worked hard to have the nursery ready to go by May and I think we have done it! Thanks to mom who made the curtains and bedding, to Courtney Walker for painting the adorable bunny print, and to all friends and family who have graciously showered us with gifts! Everything is starting to find a place and just needs a little one to arrive! Apollo is starting to sit outside the room these days and anxiously await her arrival as well! We'll see how long he is intersted in that room!
